When a movement becomes about a person and not the people, things slide toward totalitarianism — where individuality, belief, and even God are pushed out. Ross uses history (like the Soviet Union under Stalin, North Korea, or even early Great Britain) as a clear warning of what happens when personal worship replaces individual freedom.
